Do you ever sit down at your craft table, look at all of your beautiful supplies…and have absolutely no idea what to make?
You are definitely not alone!
One of the things I want to show you with today’s Bloom Boutique cards is that being creative doesn’t mean every idea has to begin with a blank piece of cardstock and a completely original design.
Sometimes the best place to start is with an idea that’s already right in front of you.
CASE the Catalog!
Two of the Bloom Boutique cards I’m sharing today were inspired by cards on page 67 of the January–April 2026 Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalog.

Can you see the catalog cards hiding inside my Bloom Boutique versions?
The card below you saw earlier this week with two step stamping, but again it is a great one to show how I used the card as a starting point to begin and then went off on my creative tangent.
I didn’t use the same stamps, colors or theme. Instead, I looked at the parts of those cards that caught my eye and used those ideas as the starting point for my own cards.
That’s one of my favorite ways to CASE a card.
CASE stands for Copy And Share Everything, but CASEing doesn’t mean your finished card has to look exactly like the original.
Maybe you love the layout.
Maybe it’s the placement of the sentiment.
Maybe you notice three little panels running down the front of the card.
Or maybe you simply love the way the designer created a stamped background.
Take the part that inspires you, pull out the supplies you already have, and see where it takes you!
And don’t forget about your Stampin’ Up! catalogs when you’re looking for inspiration. They aren’t just catalogs filled with products—they’re wonderful idea books, too.
Let That Pretty Paper Do Some of the Work
My third card started from a completely different kind of inspiration: the Designer Series Paper.
Sometimes we fall in love with a beautiful package of DSP…and then we’re almost afraid to use it!
This Bloom Boutique paper already has so much going on with those tiny flowers and beautiful colors that I didn’t want to cover it all up.
So I let the DSP become a major part of the design.
Then I stamped and colored the larger flowers to coordinate with the paper and added them as focal points.
That’s it.
The DSP provided the pattern, color and movement. My stamped and colored images simply helped bring everything together.
Sometimes the paper really can do the work for you.
Creativity Doesn’t Have to Be Complicated
That’s really what I hope you’ll take away from these cards.
You don’t have to reinvent the wheel every time you make something.
Start with a catalog card.
Start with a piece of DSP.
Start with a color combination you love.
Start with one little idea.
Then make it yours.
I’d much rather see you happily creating than staring at your supplies waiting for the perfect original idea to appear!
