Monday evening I did a Mystery Stamping on Monday Live on Facebook. I hope you will begin joining in and playing on Monday evenings with me on my Card by Sandi Lee Facebook page at 7 pm. This card came to fruition because I wanted to try a new technique myself. Isopropyl alcohol with some vellum and stampin’ blends proved to be quite fun and yielded such lovely results!
A few tips….
- Don’t brush back and forth….only dab. Otherwise you will just have a muddy mess.
- Use at least 90% isopropyl alcohol for best results.
- Use an acetate sheet or saran wrap under the vellum. It can be messy.
- Use bold/bright colors for more obvious marbled effects. The deeper/bolder colors show up better.
- Have paper towels handy. It can be messy.
- Pour the alcohol into the lid and then dip the brush in only that. Throw the left over alcohol away.
- Don’t soak the vellum. Use enough alcohol to see the marbled effect transpire.
- Do this first and set aside to dry while you complete the rest of your card.
I am quite happy with the results of this card! I love the color scheme, the big greeting that I used from the good feelings stamp set. So glad they brought lemon lime twist back, the bubble bath pink is just such a sweet color and melon mambo jazzes it all up!.
Here’s a quick video of the process that I used to create the vellum piece with the alcohol technique.
I did put a “plug” in the video about the radiating stitches die set that are only available in the online exclusives. They are a great addition to my diecut collection and I know they will add to yours too. You will be seeing them around here a lot more! You can click on the photo below to order them today!
Here are the supplies I used to create the card! Please let me know if you have any questions! You can always email me.
You will be seeing lots more of me! I have so many great projects planned and lots of fun along the way! If you are not a subscriber to my youtube channel or my email blasts (sign up on the side bar), please sign up today! You won’t want to miss what’s coming!
Looking forward to getting to know each of you! 🙂 Hope you get to stamp today because Happiness is Homemade!!!
